Philip Nyberg is a former professional ice hockey defenseman whose career spanned both North America and Sweden. He began his journey with Linköping HC, progressing through the junior ranks up to his first year in the J20 team. Seeking new challenges, he crossed the Atlantic to compete in the USHL for four months before spending three seasons playing NCAA Division 1 hockey at the University of Connecticut.

 

Following his college career, Philip returned to Sweden, suiting up for Mora IK in HockeyAllsvenskan for half a season before joining Lindlövens IF in Hockeyettan, where he played for five seasons. A strong, dependable presence on the blue line, he was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the fifth round (129th overall) of the NHL Entry Draft 2016.

 

After retiring, Philip transitioned into coaching, continuing to share his knowledge and passion for the game. Over the past three years, he has held multiple roles within the Lindlövens IF organization, including Head Coach for the U16 team, Assistant Coach for J18, and Assistant Coach for J20.
